Another major breach being reported this week, this time impacting customers of Frontier Communications. The extortion group RansomHub has claimed responsibility for a breach that took place during April in which full names and social security numbers were hijacked for users. The group is on the radar for becoming a more serious actor in breaches like these as of late. Frontier has said this has impacted 751,895 of their customers, however, RansomHub claims they have 5GB of data belonging up to 2 million users. RansomHub have put out demands they need met by the end of this week, or they have threatened to leak these PPIs.

Frontier says they have bolstered their network security, contacted the authorities, and have offered customers a year of free credit monitoring and identity theft services. This is pretty standard practice for these kinds of breaches we are seeing occur daily. We will keep you updated here at Nyedis.com as more information comes out.
