It has been confirmed that this past month Live Nation had a massive data breach believed to have compromised personal information from millions of users. Live Nation is the parent company of Ticketmaster, the enormous online retailer for entertainment events across the spectrum from sporting events to concerts. It has been accused of being a monopoly since its inception, and interestingly enough, the U.S. Justice Department with the assistance of dozens of state attorneys general, filed a lawsuit to break up the conglomerate only three days prior to this breach. There is no verified connection to these events, but some may speculate on the suspicious timing.

In filing for the SEC, personell from Ticketmaster disclosed that on May 20th, a hack into a third-party cloud database was discovered. The week following this, a user by the name of “ShinyHunters” was selling a 1.3TB cache of names, physical addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses illegally obtained from Ticketmaster at a cost of half a million U.S. dollars on the dark web. It appears that no banking or medical information was accessed in the breach. Visit Nyedis.com for further updates or subscribe to our channel on Youtube.
