Earlier this week, German-owned remote access software TeamViewer, experienced what they called an “irregularity” within their corporate IT environment. Their initial reports stated that what was hacked is independent of the product environment where any customer information could be accessed.

Today, an update has been made in this breach stating that the threat actor behind it was Midnight Blizzard, also referred to as APT29, a Russian state-sponsored hacker group. Although TeamViewer is assuring customers not to be worried, we have often seen more come out as further investigations are made into these breaches. We will update if and when any more information becomes available.
