We end this week with yet another data breach that you need to know about. Truist Bank has confirmed a data breach that happened back in October, claiming to be responsible is the hacker (or hackers) going by the name of Sp1d3r. This breach consists of data stolen from 65,000 employees of the commercial bank which includes bank transactions, account numbers, balances, and source codes. This breached information is being sold on the dark web for $1 million.
When asked for comment by executives at Truist if this has any link to the recent Snowflake hacks targeting companies like Live Nation/Ticketmaster which we’ve reported on, they believe there is no connection. We will keep you updated as more information is discovered.
