Web3 is the future. There is no denying the inevitable.

It will give you back control and provide access to the internet from anywhere. It builds on existing technology that is commonly used everyday like smartphones and cloud applications. A crypto’s dream comes true, this makes the internet decentralized. Data would no longer be held only by large corporations. To really understand Web3, you must first understand what it means for something to be decentralized.

DECENTRALIZATION

Decentralizing something like data means to transfer the control and decision-making from a centralized entity to a form of distributed network. The idea is that you don’t need to trust the network because there is less need to. When you work with a centralized entity, you place your trust in them that they would not abuse you.

This is important because it gives you a spectrum to work with. Rather than completely putting your data in the hands of one group, you choose what goes where. You can be completely decentralized or partially centralized or some variant. No one entity needs to trust one another. Everybody has the exact same data in the form of a distributed ledger. If this ledger is altered or corrupted in any way, it can be rejected by the majority of the members in the network. There is no single point of failure because decentralization reduces the point of weaknesses in a system.

This is how Bitcoin remains so robust. You can’t shut any one individual down, you would need to shut down all of the Bitcoin participants (holders, miners, etc.) in order to shut down Bitcoin itself.

BENEFITS

This is why Web3 is the future of the internet. Whenever someone brings a product or service closer to the people, a new market is created. The less middleman, the better. When Lyft and Uber came out, you could order a ride without having to talk to anybody. You do not need to trust the driver, because they don’t know where you are going – they just follow the GPS dictated by the app.

When Airbnb came out, the same thing happened. You do not need to talk to anybody except to greet the homeowner when you arrive that day. Amazon did the same thing with bookstores and eventually anything that can be sold, would be sold on Amazon. The list goes on (Netflix, Tesla, etc.). All of the transaction is facilitated on the app with little to no middleman.

Web3 aims to do that with the internet. Your ability to participate on the internet is not dictated by any organization. For example, Twitter controls whether or not you can participate on their platform. Web3 makes that impossible for them. You just simply need an address. PayPal can no longer decide what kind of payments are allowed for certain types of work. Web3 simply requires no personal data and cannot prevent payments. This is just a few examples of many that Web3 will bring to the people.

Web3 simply cannot be brought down because it would be powered by thousands of servers, rather than a select few. This means that a malicious actor cannot simply just take down one network.

USING WEB3

You don’t need to know how your electricity or car works, we’ve taken it for granted and use it in our daily lives without worrying about the extra details. When Web3 has arrived, you would not be thinking about the problems you have in Web2. You’ll just use it like you do with a light switch or driving a car. It will revolutionize the world in the same way every major market changer has.
